The Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church visited the Diocese of Quincy Oct. 1-2, 2011 during the annual Synod weekend in Peoria.  

Katherine Jefferts Schori enjoyed a special breakfast meeting with clergy, gave a short pre-business meeting address to deputies, spent the morning visiting with diocesan youth and gave the homily at the 11 a.m. Eucharist Mass.

After lunch she received a check from the diocese to the Rebuild Our Church in Haiti campaign and addressed the empowerment of women and other victims of war and violence in the world. On Sunday morning she visited the Dean's Sunday School Class and also was the celebrant and preacher at St. Paul's Cathedral.
