STANDING COMMITTEES & COMMISSIONSTRUSTEES OF FUNDS AND PROPERTY
The Trustees of Funds and Property of the
Diocese of Quincy (herein called the "Trustees"), incorporated under
the laws of the State of Illinois on February 4, 1893, shall receive, manage
and disburse all funds and property acquired by it for the use of the Diocese
according to the expressed intention of the donors or as directed by the Synod. [43.1.]
The Trustees may also receive, hold and convey
legal title to such other property as may be allowed by law, subject to the
direction of the Bishop and of the Standing Committee of the Diocese. [43.2]
The Trustees shall submit to each annual
session of Synod an independent audit of all investments, securities and
obligations and an accounting of receipts and disbursements. [43.3]
The Bishop shall be a Trustee with voice and
vote. [43.4]
The Trustees shall conform to the requirements
of the Constitution and Canons of the Diocese. The Trustees' by-laws shall
include a statement that amendment of the by-laws must also receive the
approval of Synod before taking effect. [43.5]
There shall be seven Trustees in addition to
the Bishop. The term of one Trustee shall expire each year at the time of the
annual session of the Synod. No person who has served two consecutive full
terms as a Trustee shall be eligible for election or appointment until one year
after his or her term has
expired. Elections to fill vacancies shall be made by the Trustees, subject to
the approval of the Synod. If the Trustees fail to elect, or if the Synod fails
to approve their selection, the Synod shall elect a Trustee. [43.6]

COMMISSION ON MINISTRY
The Commission on Ministry. This Commission shall
operate under the provisions of the following National Canon: Title III, Ministry,
Canon 2, Of Commission on Ministry. In addition to the duties outlined in the
above Canon, the Commission on Ministry shall interview all candidates for the
office of Rector or Vicar of any Church in the Diocese of Quincy who are not
canonically resident in this Diocese. This provision can be met by the presence
of at least two members of the Commission, one Clergy and one Lay, at the
interview of the candidate with the Search Committee of the Church. The
Commission representatives will make a written recommendation to the Bishop
regarding the candidate following the interview. The Commission shall also
interview candidates for the post of Assistant/Associate to the Rector at the
request of the
Rector or the Bishop [34.2(a)(1)
(a) (2) The Commission shall be composed of six persons,
three Clergy and three Laypersons. Members shall be appointed by the Bishop at
each annual Synod. Each member shall service a term of one year renewable to a
maximum of five years. The Bishop may relieve a member of his or her duties at
any time and may appoint a replacement to complete the unexpired term.[34.2(a)(2)]
