CALL FOR THE 133RD SYNOD 

OF THE

DIOCESE OF QUINCY

                                          

The Annual Synod of the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy will convene at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, Peoria.  Deputies and guests are asked to register by September 1.

 

The schedule of Synod will be:

                       

            9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Business Session

            11:30 a.m.             The Holy Eucharist

                                          Institution of the Rev. Thomas Stone as Canon to

                                          the Ordinary

                                          Ordination of the Rev. Deacon Margaret Lee

                                          to the Sacred Order of Priests

            Lunch/Reception  to follow the service

     

Congregations are asked now to elect their lay deputies.  Alternate lay deputies may also be elected. Guests are always welcome. The Diocese of Quincy and The Episcopal Church conducts a=its business in open meetings.


Canonically resident clergy and clergy licensed to officiate in the diocese and  elected lay deputies are asked to pre-register no later than September 1, 2010. 


Each clergy and lay deputy who registers is also asked to include a check for $25.00 payable to The Diocese of Quincy of the Episcopal Church.  Guests and observers are asked to send $10. This will cover lunch for the deputies and some of the expenses of the Synod. Download a registration form.
